Diana L. Huffman established the William C. Huffman Endowed Scholarship in June 2012, in honor of her father, an accomplished educator and university administrator. The fund was amended in June 2014 and January 2023 and is now known as the William C. Huffman Endowed Scholarship in Journalism. This fund provides merit-based scholarships for incoming first-year students in the Philip Merrill College of Journalism from Washington, DC or the State of Maryland.
