DeVos Institute of Arts Management Fund

As a culture, we spend heavily to encourage artistic talent. But much less attention goes to train the managers who keep those artists at work. That's where the DeVos Institute of Arts Management comes in. Founded in 2001 by Michael Kaiser, former president of the Kennedy Center, it's the world's top training ground for arts managers and their boards. Its work is more urgent than ever amid the rapid technological and cultural change affecting arts businesses. Coming to the University of Maryland in September 2014, the DeVos Institute will help Maryland team up with public and private leaders in diverse, challenged and critical arts communities worldwide to educate and support the arts leaders of today and tomorrow.
