When Renee and Irving Milchberg were children, their worlds were shattered by the Second World War and the Holocaust. Renee and Irving were witnesses to and victims of what can happen to society when ideology and lies are accepted in lieu of facts.
Their son, Professor Howard Milchberg, his wife Rena, and their three children Moses, Mollie, and Max generously established the Irving & Renee Milchberg Endowed Lectureship in October of 2018 to support a cross-disciplinary lectureship in the Department of Physics. The lectures will aim to explore the impact of physics on the arts, the humanities, history, and the world. With your support, the lectureship will serve to honor the memory of Professor Milchberg's parents, Renee and Irving, by continuing to give voice to facts, evidence, and tolerance which are vital for a civilized society.
