The Isidore and Annie H. Adler Memorial Fund was established in June 1991 by Annie H. Adler (1918-2007) in memory of her husband to provide scholarships for undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Life Sciences, now the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences (CMNS).
Dr. Isidore Adler (1916-1990) was a chemistry professor at the University of Maryland and head of the geochemistry division. Throughout his career, he also worked as a research analyst at the U.S. Geological Survey and the Goddard Space Flight Center, training astronauts and designing experiments for the Apollo 15 and Apollo 16 missions. Isidore and Annie Adler were dedicated to helping students, even volunteering at the National Youth Science Camps from 1969 to 1989. This memorial fund remembers and honors the Adlers and their many contributions to academia. Gifts to this fund support dedicated undergraduate students that have completed their first year and maintained at least a 3.5 GPA.
