Rodler/Wood Endowed Scholarship

The Rodler-Wood Endowment Account was established in 2004 by Maryland alum James Wood (class of 1972) and his partner Peter Rodler (1936-2010) as part of their plan to use their estate to endow a professorship in Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Studies. This endowment account also funds awards for the Rodler-Wood Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded annually in the spring to an undergraduate or graduate student at the University of Maryland, College Park, and selection is based on one or more of the following criteria: demonstrated financial need, hardship based on sexual orientation, academic interest in LGBT Studies, and extracurricular activities on behalf of LGBT issues.
