Impact of Giving

In general, my annual gift to Maryland is to contribute back for the great and inexpensive education I received. The amount I've given since I've graduated (at least 15,000 over 15 years) is not even close to the value of the education I received. Since 2007, my gift represents a living memorial for my mother who passed away then from cancer. While not necessarily direct, maybe my gift will help a student one day find a great discovery that could change lives.

Sonali and Hari Scholarship

Hari Gopalkrishnan '89 and Sonali Gopalkrishnan '91 established the Sonali and Hari Scholarship in December 2019 to provide scholarships for students in the Fostering Terps Success program in the Division of Student Affairs. The scholarship can also be awarded to a veteran or first-generation undergraduate student if no student meets the Fostering Terps Success criteria.
