Impact of Giving

In general, my annual gift to Maryland is to contribute back for the great and inexpensive education I received. The amount I've given since I've graduated (at least 15,000 over 15 years) is not even close to the value of the education I received. Since 2007, my gift represents a living memorial for my mother who passed away then from cancer. While not necessarily direct, maybe my gift will help a student one day find a great discovery that could change lives.

Ceena Modarres Endowed Graduate Student Fellowship in Reliability Engineering

This fund supports graduate students in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, with a preference for students in the Reliability Engineering program who hold a Bachelor's degree in a technical field other than engineering. The fund honors Professor Mohammad Modarres' son, Ceena Modarres '14, M.P.P. '15, M.S. '17.
