Dan Shanks Endowed Award

James C. Owings, Jr. established the Dan Shanks Endowed Award in December 2013, in memory of Dan Shanks, a well-known computational number theorist who worked at the University after his retirement from the Naval Ordnance Laboratory and the National Bureau of Standards. This award supports students in the Department of Mathematics in the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences.
