Dana Meiggs Reisse, MLS ’73
Dana Meiggs Reisse received her Master of Library Science degree from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1973 and worked at the National Agricultural Library. Prior to her graduate degree she worked in two regional public library systems. She has had a lifelong passion for reading and libraries and the wealth of information they offer.
Her son Andrew graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2001 with a double major in computer science and mathematics and pursued a career as a software engineer until his untimely death at the age of 33, when he was a founding member of the virtual reality startup, Oculus. This scholarship is established to honor Andrew’s spirit of adventure, curiosity, generosity, kindness, and mentorship.
