The Ivanna L. and Alonzo S. Cole, Jr. Maryland Promise Scholarship is an endowed fund that will provide need-based scholarships with preference for undergraduate students in the Robert H. Smith School of Business or the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences at the University of Maryland under the auspices of the Clark Challenge for the Maryland Promise Program.
The Clark Challenge for the Maryland Promise will establish a $100 million endowment that will provide need-based scholarships to undergraduate students from underserved populations in the state of Maryland and the District of Columbia.
Your gift to the Ivanna L. and Alonzo S. Cole, Jr. Maryland Promise Scholarship will be matched dollar for dollar by the A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation and the University of Maryland.
A note from the donor:
Having both grown up in Prince George’s County, Maryland we are excited to support future Terps just like us. It is our wish that recipients take at least one financial literacy course during their UMCP tenure to ensure that once they graduate and begin their successful career, they will know how to use their income responsibly and remain financially savvy with the ability to also leave a legacy that supports those who come after them.
