John F. Soper and Sharyn L. Evans-Soper established the John and Sharyn Soper Maryland Promise Scholarship in May 2019 under the auspices of the Clark Challenge for the Maryland Promise Program. This fund was amended June 2023 and provides need-based scholarships for undergraduate students who are residents of Maryland or the District of Columbia with preference for students enrolled in the Department of Plant Science and Landscape Architecture in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
