Paul Herreid established the Leon A. Herreid Science Graduate Fellowship Award in the loving memory of his son Leon A. Herreid in 1995. Leon had an enduring and positive association with NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center for his interest in space physics. The Leon A. Herreid Science Graduate Fellowship Award provides fellowship awards for graduate students studying physics in the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences, with preference given to those affiliated with NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD.
