The Nathan Drake Faculty Fellowship Endowment was established in November 2018 by a generous donor to support the recruitment of outstanding junior faculty in the field of organic chemistry in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences (CMNS).
This endowment recognizes Nathan L. Drake (1898-1959), who was a talented organic chemist and devoted faculty member. Drake served as department chair in what was then the Department of Chemistry from 1940 until his death in 1959. Drake worked tirelessly to build the department and was a tremendous mentor, researcher and educator. Gifts to this fund provide flexible support for a junior faculty member’s research, travel, material and equipment related to research projects.
