Impact of Giving

In general, my annual gift to Maryland is to contribute back for the great and inexpensive education I received. The amount I've given since I've graduated (at least 15,000 over 15 years) is not even close to the value of the education I received. Since 2007, my gift represents a living memorial for my mother who passed away then from cancer. While not necessarily direct, maybe my gift will help a student one day find a great discovery that could change lives.

O. Daniel Ahalt ’73 and Deborah Ahalt ’68, M.A. ’75 established the O. Daniel Ahalt '73 Current-Use Scholarship in Business in September 2024. This fund provides merit-based scholarships for undergraduate students in the Robert H. Smith School of Business.
