Balakumar Balachandran and Sundari Balachandran established the Mechanical Engineering Student Innovation Fund in April 2024. This fund, established by University of Maryland Distinguished Professor and former Chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Balakumar Balachandran, supports awards to recognize undergraduate and graduate students in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the A. James Clark School of Engineering.
