The UMD Student Recovery Fund provides support to students who are in recovery from alcohol and/or drug use or are currently struggling with addiction. College campuses can be a difficult environment for students to maintain their sobriety. This is due to many factors, including living away from home and a pervasive drinking culture. These challenges can make it difficult for students in recovery to maintain sobriety and succeed academically.
The Student Recovery Fund is used to support activities that foster a campus environment that enhances academic success and personal development for our students in recovery. This includes, but is not limited to, professionally-facilitated support services for students in recovery. The Fund also supports enhancements to the Drop-In Space, a safe space for students in recovery to study and connect with one another, as well as alcohol and drug abuse prevention programming.
