Drs. Susan R. Komives and Marylu K. McEwen Current-Use Graduate Award in Student Affairs

As EdTerps, we tackle some of our community's most pressing challenges. We face critical shortages of teachers, counselors, and administrators nationwide. The pandemic has highlighted our strengths and weaknesses in meeting students' diverse needs and creating effective and inclusive learning environments. Injustice and identity-based oppression inflict harm and limit our ability to ensure all have access to high-quality academic, professional, and personal experiences. And our efforts to help others discern what is true and what is not are consistently challenged, threatening our classrooms, environment, and democracy.

At the College of Education, EdTerps are working tirelessly to understand these issues, and, as a united community of students, faculty, staff, alumni, & friends, we are making significant contributions to our society's success and progress. Through highly-ranked and practice-oriented programs, we train undergraduate and graduate students to be educators, counselors, psychologists, administrators, researchers, and educational specialists. Our graduates work with individuals from infancy through adulthood in schools, community agencies, private practices, colleges, and universities.
