This award is given annually by the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences’ (CMNS) Board of Visitors to a doctoral student who has advanced to candidacy and demonstrated scholarly and research excellence in his or her field. One student from each CMNS doctoral program may be nominated by the director of the program. Credentials are reviewed by the board members, who cast a vote for their choice.
