The mission of the Institute for Physical Science and Technology (IPST) is to foster excellence in interdisciplinary, innovative research and education. IPST conducts groundbreaking research in emerging areas at the boundaries between physics, chemistry, the mathematical and life sciences, and engineering. The institute also supports three interdisciplinary graduate programs in chemical physics, biophysics, and applied mathematics. Faculty members and students in the institute collaborate on research projects with scientists at NASA, NIST, NRL, NIH, the Laboratory for Physical Sciences, and other organizations. Your support will help us pursue scientific advances and train the next generation of scientific leaders.
