Maurice Dorsey '70, Ph.D. '83 established the Maurice W. Dorsey Ph.D. and Robert J. Battjes D.S.W. Endowed Scholarship for the Student Success Initiative in December 2021 in memory of the donor's partner, Robert J. Battjes. This fund was amended in March 2024 and provides merit-based scholarships for undergraduate students who are involved with the Student Success Initiative, a student-led program that empowers the Black student population academically, financially and professionally, through the Division of Student Affairs.
