The CMNS Arts and Beautification Program Fund supports efforts in the college to beautify the college’s research buildings and academic spaces with a variety of relevant art forms. Art enhances academic settings and inspires learning, teaching, and research.
Presently on display in the Bioscience Research Building is artwork by renowned visual artist Rob Kesseler. Visit UMD Science on Facebook to see photos of this amazing artwork taken at the January 23, 2018, Worlds Within Art Exhibition Opening and Lecture by the artist. Kesseler celebrates science through his artwork, collaborating with botanical scientists and molecular biologists to reveal the complex beauty of nature at a microscopic level. Contributions made to the fund in 2018 will help keep Kesseler's work on display in the Bioscience Research Building so that students, faculty, staff, and visitors can continue to discover and enjoy how art and science are intertwined.
