Established in 2007, the William J. Higgins Endowed Professorship Fund honors the legacy of an outstanding biology faculty member, William J. Higgins. Dr. Higgins inspired thousands of students during his nearly 45 years on campus through his teaching, advising and mentoring. Hundreds of his former students, alumni, and friends contributed to creating the first endowed professorship in the Department of Biology.
