Dr. Jeong H. Kim established the Jeong H. Kim Endowed Professorships, as part of the Jeong H. Kim Information Technology Endowment Fund, in September 1998 to support two junior faculty members in the A. James Clark School of Engineering. Recipients of these professorships shall be known as Jeong H. Kim Professors. The fund was amended in August 2002 so that one of two Jeong H. Kim Professorships could be awarded to a professor involved with reliability engineering. The fund was amended again in March 2014 to combine the two Jeong H. Kim Professorships into one professorship for a faculty member in mechanical engineering or reliability engineering. The fund is now known as the Jeong H. Kim Endowed Professorship.
