The University of Maryland, College Park acknowledges the generous commitment of Matthew Fishlinger and William J. Fishlinger to establish the Fishlinger Family Endowed Scholarship through the University of Maryland College Park Foundation.
The Fishlinger Family Endowed Scholarship will provide merit-based scholarships for undergraduate students in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences with preference for a student in the Department of Government and Politics. The donors wish to assist students who may have been deeply impacted by personal or medical challenges. At the time of selection, the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences will collaborate with the University Health Center or the Office of Disability Support Services – or its successor – to identify and select a student who meets these criteria. If no student in the department meets these criteria, the scholarship may be given to any student in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences who meet the criteria who has experienced significant personal or medical challenges. If no student in the college meets the criteria, the scholarship may be awarded to any student in the Department of Government and Politics.
