The Dr. Joan R. Kahn Endowed Graduate Research Support Fund in Sociology was established by Dr. Joan R. Kahn in May 2023, in honor of her contributions to both the Department of Sociology at the University of Maryland College Park, and the academic field. This endowed fund will support graduate students in the Department of Sociology at UMD. Funds may be used for research expenses associated with the completion of their degree program. Research expenses may include but are not limited to the acquisition or collection of data, dissemination of research findings, and specialized training.
