Mark Sobel ’82, Mary Grace Sobel, and Joan Josephine Vas established the Mark Sobel, Jr. Maryland Promise Scholarship in October 2023 under the auspices of the Clark Challenge for the Maryland Promise Program. This fund is named in memory of memory of Mark and Mary Grace’s son, Mark Sobel, Jr. It provides need-based scholarships for undergraduate students who are residents of Maryland or the District of Columbia, with preference for students in the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences.
