Mary Ann Granger-Alderson (Poulos) Memorial Scholarship

Friends, family and colleagues of Mary Ann Granger-Alderson created the Mary Ann Granger-Alderson Memorial Scholarship in 2008 to support undergraduate students with financial need. This fund was established in honor of Granger-Alderson's strong commitment to education. An administrator at the University of Maryland, she earned her bachelor of arts degree in economics at the University of Maryland College Park and a master's degree in management information systems from the University of Maryland University College. She later dedicated her career to improving student services in higher education. Under her guidance and leadership, The University of Maryland policies, procedures and operations during her 32 year career in the Registrars office kept pace with its rise to national and global prominence among the top tier of research universities.  A long time advocate for improving services to students, faculty and staff,  Mary Ann Granger -Alderson (Poulos) was awarded the University of Maryland President's Distinguished  Service Award in 1994.   Devoted to her family, committed to her friends, generous to her professional colleagues, and giving to the broader Maryland community, her life is greatly missed and honored.
