The Mei-Tang and Tu-Chu Empowerment Maryland Promise Scholarship was established via estate gift in February 2024 under the auspices of the Clark Challenge for the Maryland Promise Program. The fund honors the memory of Tu-Chu Chen and Mei-Tang Shaw and provides need-based scholarships for undergraduate students who are residents of Maryland or the District of Columbia.
