Dr. Ching-Hung Woo and Dr. Charles W. Misner were professors of physics from 1962 to 1998 and from 1963 to 2000, respectively. Both are renowned for the great originality and high standards of their research and are universally esteemed for their impeccable integrity. The Professor Ching-Hung Woo and Professor Charles Misner Endowed Award in Fundamental Physics was generously established in Professor Woo's memory, and in Professor Misner's honor, in appreciation of their generosity and selflessness, and in tribute to their respect, love and devotion to their students, colleagues, family, friends, and humanity. The award supports Ph.D. students or faculty members in the Department of Physics and/or the Department of Astronomy in the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences.
