Vladimir Entov Maryland Promise Scholarship

Vladimir Entov (1937-2008) was a distinguished applied mathematician and physicist who spent the last years of his life in Maryland. Born in Moscow, he was an erudite scientist of unwavering integrity, a poet, and a lover of the outdoors. He was also a passionate teacher, and scores of his former students
now work in the best universities and companies in Europe and the United States. Two of his grandchildren studied in the UMD Clark School of Engineering, in the classes of 2009 and 2024. This scholarship, established in his memory by his family, is intended to honor his teaching and scientific
legacy by supporting future scientists and engineers.
