Dr. Rocky Lopes ’80 established the Dr. Rocky Lopes ’80 Student Alumni Leadership Council Founders Quasi-Endowed Award in July 2022. The fund was amended in April 2023 and is now known as the Rocky Lopes ’80 Student Alumni Leadership Council Founders Award. It supports a University of Maryland Alumni Association Lifetime Membership award to recognize a duly elected president of the Student Alumni Leadership Council (SALC) who has graduated or will imminently graduate with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, as well as Three-Year Membership Awards for graduating SALC Vice Presidents.
