BSOS Diversity Gift Fund

The BSOS Diversity Fund was established to support the diversity initiatives and programming within the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences at the University of Maryland. For more information on Diversity@BSOS, click here

Gifts to the BSOS Diversity Fund will bolster already-established programs and initiatives, which you can click to learn more about below, that include:

Anti-Black Racism Initiative: In response to the recent tragic killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and other African Americans—in many of these cases at the hands of law enforcement—this initiative is designed to promote long-term change in the college, on campus, and beyond.

Summer Research Institute (SRI): Established in 1999, the SRI program provides opportunities and resources for underrepresented minorities looking to pursue graduate degrees in the social, behavioral, and economic sciences.

Promoting Achievement and Diversity in Economics (PADE): PADE is a cohort-style program in the Department of Economics designed to increase the participation of underrepresented students in related graduate programs and careers through unique advising and internship programs.

The Psychology Research Empowerment Program (PREP): The PREP program seeks to strengthen the first-year to Ph.D. pipeline for students who are the first in their families to attend college, from low-income backgrounds or members of groups that are underrepresented in psychology graduate programs.
