Michael L. Cherry Memorial Scholarship Fund
The scholarship was created by the Center for Minorities in Science and Engineering and minority engineering alumni in memory of Baltimore native, Michael L. Cherry. Michael was a 1984 electrical engineering graduate of the University of Maryland and member of the Black Engineers Society who was killed in an automobile accident on October 29, 1985. Each year this scholarship is awarded to the student who best exemplifies Michael’s qualities of persistence, hard work and dedication to helping others.
